i continue to do a TON of research about PCOS and there are so many wonderful resources out there. wading through the good and bad ones can be difficult, but it is so empowering to have all this information at my fingertips! i was in a mood last night and went crazy gathering information on all the things i could/should be doing. i'm still trying to figure out a good way to take care of this as naturally as possible--the thought of taking a pill (or several) for the rest of my life is so unappealing. i've stumbled on some great blogs and they have a wealth of information (and support)--i'm realizing i have a ton of work ahead of me to soak up all this good stuff! PCOS Diva is a wonderful blog. there's info on medications, recipes/diet, exercise, and all the latest research on PCOS. beyond that, it's a wonderful e-support system. i knew a significant percentage of the female population faced PCOS (5-10%), but now i see it and i don't feel so alone. inCYST on the Best is also great. i just found this one yesterday. this blog is dedicated to helping women with all things PCOS. in addition to many of the great things found on the diva, there's also great information on trainings and seminars that can educate women on the condition and build the support network. it's wonderful!
on a separate note, with all this reading, i feel like i am probably going to try going gluten free for a while and see what difference it makes. everything i'm reading says i need to limit carbs but several resources (including a good friend of mine who is an NP in women's health) suggest going gluten free. i was tested for a gluten allergy a few years ago because of some symptoms i was having--thought i didn't test positive, it's so mind-blowing to know that it was definitely related to what was going on in my body. i'm going to start looking into good recipes and resources for going gluten free. here's to hoping this makes a difference!
